It is with deep sadness that we share the news of the passing of one of our cherished authors, Liz van der Laarse.
Liz was among the first writers published by One Tree House, and her remarkable novel, CUZ, remains our best-selling title. We are grateful that Liz had the opportunity to hear and approve the audiobook edition, which we look forward to launching next month.

Liz was a much-loved author of pre-teen and early teen fiction for over two decades. She began with Trouble Patch, published by Reed in 2000, followed by Not Even in 2002, and CUZ in 2018. Alongside her writing career, Liz was a respected teacher in the Far North and a contributor to Wilderness magazine and local newspapers.
We send our heartfelt condolences to her husband, Max, and her family. Liz’s talent, kindness, and enduring support will be remembered always. She will be greatly missed.
