One Tree House mourns the loss of such a great writer and sends our best wishes to her family at this sad time. We assure them, we will continue to treasure the works she has entrusted to us.
We will be eternally grateful to Sherryl Jordan for her support in our first years of business. The generosity and belief she showed in offering us two of her works helped to establish our list on both the local and the international stage.
‘I remember meeting Sherryl for the first time and being overawed by her talents,’ Director Christine Dale said today. ‘Sherryl was a stunning artist as well as being a wonderful writer. It was a toss-up, which of her talents would hold sway at that early stage of her career, but she said she was more challenged by the writing, and she thrived on the challenge. I have often quoted Sherryl when talking to new writers because she freely admitted to writing 50 manuscripts before she was published. It is a testament to her perseverance and her commitment to her craft that she has become such a much-loved writer around the world.’
